We're building our portfolio and testimonials for 2026. In exchange for a free website, we ask for an honest review and permission to feature your site in our portfolio. It's a win-win!
No hidden costs for the website build. The only ongoing cost is the £30/month Website Care Plan, which covers hosting, security, maintenance, and free content updates. A 12-month minimum term applies — after that, it's rolling monthly with no lock-in. The design and development are completely free.
The only commitment is a 12-month minimum hosting term at £30/month — that's £360 over the year, compared to the £1,500+ this website would normally cost to build. After 12 months you can cancel anytime. We ask that you provide content within 7 days of our request, respond to communications promptly, and provide a testimonial on completion.
Simple. Our ZDT brand is new (although we've been building websites for other brands for many years) and we're doing this to build our portfolio, gain testimonials, recommendations and create case studies to showcase our work. We want to demonstrate the quality of our services and build trust with potential clients. We're confident that once you see the quality of our work, you'll want to continue working with us for ongoing maintenance, additional pages, or future projects.
Additional pages can be added at our standard rate of £75 per page. More advanced features are also available at competitive rates.
We provide continuous website support all the time you are hosted with us. This includes security updates, performance monitoring, and minor content changes to ensure your website remains up-to-date and secure.
After the 12-month minimum term you're free to cancel with 30 days' notice. Because the website is built on and managed through ZDT's infrastructure (similar to how Shopify or Squarespace works), it cannot be moved to another host without a rebuild. If you'd like to take the website files with you, a one-off export fee of £499 applies — still a fraction of what a new build would cost. Your domain name is always yours and can be transferred away at any time for a £25 transfer fee.
You own the domain name and all your content outright. The website itself is delivered as a fully managed service — it lives on ZDT's infrastructure and is maintained by us. This is what allows us to offer free updates and support. If you ever want to leave and take the site files with you, a £499 export fee applies after your minimum term.
All changes to the website after completion can be made by us at your request. We offer ongoing maintenance and update services at competitive rates to keep your website fresh and up-to-date. Plus, we offer an annual checkup service where we can review your website, update any necessary components, and ensure everything is running smoothly. We aim to make any small changes for free under the terms of our hosting and maintenance agreement. Alternatively, more extensive changes can be made at any time by us at your request for a small fee.

1. Eligibility
- This offer is available to small businesses only - less than 100 employees and less than £5m turnover.
- Applicants must be the owner or authorised representative of the business.
- One free website per business. Previous ZDT clients are not eligible.
- ZDT reserves the right to decline applications at our discretion.
2. What's Included
- Design and development of a 5-page website (Home, About, Services, Portfolio/Gallery, Contact).
- Mobile-responsive design optimised for all devices.
- Basic SEO setup including meta titles and descriptions.
- Contact form integration.
- Domain name registration .co.uk or .com and annual renewal (if required)
- SSL certificate setup.
- Up to 2 rounds of revisions on the initial design.
- One email account (if required).
3. What's Not Included
- Web hosting £30pcm.
- E-commerce or CMS functionality, booking systems, or membership areas.
- Content writing or professional photography.
- Ongoing maintenance beyond the 30-day support period.
- Additional pages beyond the included 5 pages (available at £75/page).
4. Client Responsibilities
- Provide all required content (text, images, logos) within 7 days of our request.
- Respond to communications within 3 business days to avoid project delays.
- Provide timely feedback during the design and revision process.
- Ensure all provided content is owned by you or properly licensed.
- Hosting must be maintained throughout the duration of the website's use. Missing payments may result in the suspension or termination of hosting services and the loss of website availability.
5. In Exchange For This Free Service
- You agree to provide a written testimonial upon project completion.
- You grant ZDT permission to feature your website in our portfolio and marketing materials.
- You agree to a brief case study interview (15-20 minutes, optional but appreciated).
6. Timeline & Delivery
- Projects are typically completed within 2 weeks of receiving all required content.
- Delays in receiving content or feedback may extend the timeline.
- Projects inactive for more than 30 days may be cancelled.
7. Ownership & Rights
- You own full rights to your domain name and all content (text, images, logos) provided by you.
- The website design, codebase, and infrastructure are delivered as a managed service hosted on ZDT's servers. Ownership of the website files transfers to you only upon payment of the applicable export fee (see section 9).
- ZDT retains the right to display the work in our portfolio indefinitely.
- Domain name can be transferred to another registrar if desired, for which a transfer fee of £25 will apply.
8. Limitation of Liability
This free website service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. ZDT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the website. Our total liability shall not exceed the value of services provided (£0 for this free offer).
9. Hosting Term & Cancellation
- A minimum hosting term of 12 months applies from the date the website goes live. This is in lieu of any build fee and represents the consideration for the free design and development service.
- The monthly Website Care Plan fee is £30/month, billed monthly. After the 12-month minimum term, the plan continues on a rolling monthly basis and may be cancelled with 30 days' written notice.
- If you cancel within the minimum term, the remaining balance of monthly payments up to month 12 becomes due immediately.
- On cancellation, the website will be taken offline. Your domain name remains yours and can be pointed elsewhere at any time.
- If you wish to take a copy of the website files upon or after cancellation, a one-off export fee of £499 applies.
- ZDT reserves the right to terminate the service immediately for non-payment or breach of these terms, without refund of any fees already paid.
10. Limitation of Liability
This free website service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. ZDT shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the website. Our total liability shall not exceed the value of services provided (£0 for this free offer).
